Shebaz's Shawarma & Falafel
Doris & Gabriel Chordeker, owners of Mac’s Milk Convenience store in Port Stanley, realized that a different style of cuisine in the village of Port Stanley would be a great opportunity to embark on. Opening a Shawarma business has always been a dream of Gabriel Chordeker since moving to Canada from his home country of Israel. His wife Doris was also excited to bring Mediterranean culture to Port Stanley, making it a great business venture for the two.
The restaurant serves up Mediterranean style street cuisine that includes Shawarma, Falafel, Samosas and now spring rolls. The restaurant’s location makes it the perfect location for hungry beach-goers to and from Port Stanley’s Main Beach. The restaurant opens daily at 11:30am and stays open until midnight or later on Fridays and Saturdays to accommodate people who are out late in the village.
Customers can order their Shawarma or Falafel in a pita, in a salad, over rice or on top of an order of French fries. Samosas come in a variety of filling including: chicken, beef, lamb, and vegetable, and have quickly become a customer favourite.
Be sure to try a fresh fruit popsicle or in-house made baklava for dessert!
